Hope for a new home

Meet Hope, a 2 year old Great Dane.  Hope came to the Pa Great Dane Rescue from a West Virginia shelter. She was dumped in a drop-box at the shelter and was rescued and brought to our group by Stephanie Murphy, one of our volunteers.  Initially Hope was extremely thin but with some time and care she has gained weight and is looking good.

According to Stephanie, “She is a sweet and loving dog that likes to play. She is good with other dogs,  although a bit snappy if food is involved at times…which is normal I am sure for a dog that has been nearly starved to death.  Hope is good with cats and, though in her foster home there are no small children, she has been approached in public by very small children and showed no signs of fear or aggression. She is housebroken and crate trained. She walks perfect on a leash and knows the sit command as well.  Hope is heartworm negative and has been spayed.”

Hope before entering the rescue:

Hope since she has been in Stephanie’s care.
